Hi, this is Patrice Badami, with Acorn to tree children’s book review. And I have a really interesting book today. It’s a Mexican fable, about the net who with traditions, and it includes a possum and a rabbit. And it describes what the world was like, at the time of the creation of the humans. It’s a very beautifully illustrated book. Here it is. And it’s illustrated by David Alvarez, who’s a very well known artist, and he’s gained fame throughout Mexico. Here, the book also it’s an award winning author who wrote the book and that’s David Bowles, and he does some beautiful poetic text. What I like about this book is it explains in terms children can appreciate how the world appeared including the moon, as you see here, the rabbit is filling up the moon and how there’s a conflict between the rabbit and this possum as to who collects the beautiful mystical Moon water, if you will, and how the how the different illustrations really bring forth. The story is just beautiful. It’s a different type of a book. It’s beautiful because it’s a fable. I love fables because it helps children to look at world the world in a more like an introspective way and it helps them to see the world differently in a poetic sense. And it’s very fun to look at things that way. Children. It’s another type of literacy component, learning about poems learning about fables and myths. And so this is just a great example with wonderful, rich illustrations. Beautiful text. Please see if you can find it and share this with your family once again.
