Hi, this is Patrice Badami, with Acorn to Tree. And I have another toy I want to share with you. It’s from Melissa and Doug. And it’s ten blocks and boards. I love the little box; it’s nice and durable. And it keeps all the pieces in the plexiglass so you can see what’s in the box. So you slide that off and pull out the board. Pull out a few of them. Let’s see how many are in here. Okay, so there are five. And they’re Mason, durable. This is, again, another product from illicit drugs that is nice and durable.
When they’re wooden toys, and they’re like heirlooms, it’s hard for me to get rid of them. So there are five boards, and there are pictures on one side. And then there are pictures on the other. So they have ten different pictures. So they can have, for example, we got a fish here, blue fish. And we would put it out just like so. And there’s always a little box again, very tactile, sensory, and well-made. My child loves It even sounds, but it makes the way it feels in your hands. So here we go. And we’re just going to start, you know, becoming familiar with shapes. We’ve got the diamond hexagon; what else do we have here, square, but that’s outside the picture? Anyway, so this is something that I like to take out and pack and play with independently. And she does well with it. It’s an excellent quiet activity that they gain confidence in playing alone. You can also play with them. Well, you can do one while they’re doing another. You can work with them on it. But it’s one of those little activities that children just love filling in the picture and using shapes and introduction to shapes. It’s terrific. So this is an educational introduction to mere concepts. Shapes are math concepts, and it’s also fun and very colorful. The pieces are colorful. The boards are bright. And once again, nice durable box. See if you can find it
