Hi, this is Patrice Badami, with Acorn to tree children’s book review. And today I have this book called The boy who tried to shrink his name. And it’s an interesting book. It’s by sahaya powerup mcaren. At who wrote it and Michelle Pereira did the illustrations. It’s a very important book about friendship. It describes how this child what he’s going through when he’s trying to explain to other people, what his name is, how to pronounce it, how to spell it. It explains in clear details that children could understand what it’s like, going through life and feeling different feeling stressed out, worried about what other people will think. And it’s really important that the child learns, this is what it feels like to him when they try to pronounce his name. And I just think the illustrations are amazing. And here, it explains how the child got his name. And what’s important here is it explains to all different children, what it’s like, what somebody’s going through and teaches empathy. It teaches also students about self pride, and it teaches them about confidence and what real friendship is. So it’s an important book to share once again, the boy who tried to shrink his name by Sentai powerup mcaren. And it’s it’s that’s what’s written by and and Michelle Pereira did the illustrations. See if you can share this with your students and family.
