Hi, this is Patrice Badami, with acorn tree children’s book review. And today I have a very good egg. It’s by Jory John and Pete Oswald. And it’s another book in the series of books that they’ve written, teaching children, different things that might be on their minds and how to cope with the different social situations they’ll be in as they grow up. I love this book because it’s something that not just a little child can relate to. Children in high school can relate to this book. So here’s why I like it because this particular book is talking about this one good egg. And he does everything he’s supposed to. And he’s very anxious about ensuring he does what he’s supposed to. And then he doesn’t do what he’s not supposed to do. He comes across many other eggs doing things they shouldn’t be doing. Unknown Speaker 0:52 He realizes that it’s not his place to teach them how to be good. But his journey is to ensure he worries about himself and does his own thing. And he learns not to be so anxious about being good. He goes out into the world; he separates himself from people whose behavior he’s not thrilled with. And he does his own journey, learning about himself, learning how to keep himself calm while still feeling cocky, still feeling confident, and how he makes decisions, for the most part, that is kind and good for other people and for himself. So it’s an excellent idea for a book and teaches him that not everyone’s perfect, you can’t always try to be perfect, but you can try your best to do what’s right. So it’s a beautiful story once again, with amazing illustrations and just a terrific concept for a book, the good egg Jory and Pete Oswald. See if you can find it. It’s just a fantastic idea.
