Hi, this is Patrice Badami, with Acorn to tree children’s book review today, I have a book. It’s called Why am I different? It’s written by Norma Simon. And it’s illustrated by Dora leader. So in this book, it’s interesting because it talks about differences, but all different types of things like some people like chocolate, some people like to whistle, some people live in an apartment. Some people live in a house, some people have black skin, some people have white skin, or it’s all different types of things that teach children that people are unique. They have different situations. They have different types of family, for example, maybe somebody’s adopted, maybe somebody isn’t somebody has a single mom or a single dad, whatever the situation is, if we were all the same, it would be like seeing everything in gray. Boring, being different makes the world a colorful and exciting place. And that’s the idea that’s really reinforced in this book. So it’s just a great idea just to share with children that there’s all different factors that people experience in their lives, whether it’s hobbies, their favorite foods, you know, so that makes us all very interesting. Again, written by Norma Simon illustrated by Dora leader, why am I different?
