Hi, this is Patrice Badami, with Acorn to Tree parenting book Regina and today I have a book. It’s called your premature baby The Complete Guide to preemie care during that crucial first year. It’s by Robin Marantz Henig. And it’s also with Anne B. Fletcher, MD, Chief neonatology unit, Children’s National Hospital Medical Center. There’s a foreword by Dr. Benjamin Spock; this book is beneficial. I have this on hand. And I refer to it often when trying to make myself aware of all the different needs of my premature baby; when I come home, it’s nice to have something that you can refer to, and you can present questions that you have to your doctor. So it’s just a great thing to have on hand. As the parent of a preemie, you’re probably wondering what those tubes, monitors, and lights in the intensive care unit mean; what are the special medical problems I might face during these crucial months? How can I talk to my preemie? How will he or she respond? Can I breastfeed? There’s just so much information packed in here that it gives you some reassurance. It’s a great guide to throw in your purse when you enter the NICU. You can read this at moments when your baby’s sleeping. It’s just a beneficial book. I found it helpful. So once again, it’s your premature baby. The Complete Guide to preemie care during that crucial first year by Robin Marantz Hannig and B Fletcher, MD. This is something that would be really helpful for you to have on hand and even other caretakers in your family.
