✂️ STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
Step 1: Trace Hands
Have each family member place their hand flat on a piece of cardstock.
Trace around each hand with a pencil.
Tip: Choose different colors for each person.
Step 2: Cut Out Silhouettes
Carefully cut along the traced lines.
Older children can cut their own — younger children may need help.
Step 3: Layer from Largest to Smallest
Arrange the hands from largest (parent/guardian) to smallest (youngest child).
Overlap them slightly so they feel connected and unified.
Step 4: Glue in Place
Once you're happy with the layout:
-
Glue each layer down.
-
Press firmly and let dry.
Optional: Use foam tape to slightly raise the top layers for depth.
Step 5: Mount & Frame
Glue your layered hands onto your background sheet.
Add a white mat layer if desired for a polished look.
Place inside a wooden frame.
Step 6: Personalize (Optional)
Add:
-
Family name
-
Year
-
A meaningful word (Home, Together, Grateful, Love)
